Below are a list of current scholarships that have been graciously offered by individuals with a personal connection to Wynot Public Schools. We thank each and every one of the kind individuals who are have made the decision to financially support our graduating seniors as they continue their educational journey. Superintendent Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by the Superintendent of WPS. The Superintendent funds this scholarship and selects one award recipient based on the criteria set forth in the scholarship application.

The Wynot Education Association Scholarship

The goals of the Foundation are to provide scholarships for continuing education of students beyond high school, as well as improving the educational environment and facilities of the Wynot Pubic School District.

Wynot Booster Club

This scholarship is awarded to qualifying students whose parents have been paid BC members for the duration of their child's high school years. We appreciate the volunteer hard work and commitment to past, present and future Booster club members and for awarding the scholarship from this organization.

Wynot Alumni Association

This scholarship is awarded to qualifying students who have one parent who graduated from WPS. Awards are for community and forward-minded graduates who plan to return to this area after college and will support WPS in their future endeavors.

Wynot Staff for Students

This scholarship is awarded by the faculty and staff of WPS. Staff members contribute a donation to the scholarship in exchange for wearing jeans each Friday in order to create funding for this scholarships.

Community Business Scholarship

We thank the many local business owners, for the past fourteen years, who have donated to this scholarship fund. Past donors included Koch Construction, Integrity Insurance, Lange Electronics, Kruse Stained Glass, Jones Feed & Grain Trucking, Bow Valley Auto, and B&B Locker. Applicants state in their essay how they will support local businesses in the future as well as the importance of the impact of small businesses in our area.

Wynot Education Foundation

2017 was the first year the foundation awarded this scholarship. The foundation welcomes any new members and appreciates past and future monetary donations to help our school progress to the future.

Col. Richard J Hesse Memorial Scholarship

In 2017 this scholarship was established honoring Col. Hesse who graduated from WPS in 1938. He attended Wayne State College and then graduated from West Point United States Military Academy - Class of 1945. Col. Hesse passed away January 22, 2017 at the age of 95.

LuAnn Jones Memorial Nursing Scholarship

This memorial scholarship is dedicated in memory of LuAnn Jones, wife of Duane Jones. LuAnn worked as a registered nurse for 42 years and worked as a dialysis nurse at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. LuAnn passed away after a courageous battle with ALS on Jan 11, 2014 at the age of 63. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Nursing.

Cedar Security Bank

Offers an annual scholarships to students WPS. We thank them for their support

Gary Nelson & Glenda Plettner-Nelson Teacher Scholarship

Gary Nelson was a former Wynot math teacher. He and his wife are offering this scholarship to any Wynot graduate going into the Education field.

Jimmy Boeckman Memorial Scholarship

This is a family scholarship in the memory of Wynot graduate Jimmy Boeckman. It is open to students going into agriculture, vet care, or medical related fields.
